I say we go on strike against community colleges. I am yet another student added to the number of those being screwed over by them.
They changed the graduation requirements and didn't even notify me.

Rough Day

  • Aug. 17th, 2008 at 1:09 PM
Today is our 6th wedding anniversary.
For her, the most important date was always the collaring. For me, it was the wedding. The reason for me, is it's the only way that begins to describe to all the vanillas the depth of our relationship. No matter how serious or intense the relationship, it just seems to be blown off as a passing thing, even in the bdsm community, until I mention that my slave is also my wife. Then people begin to understand.

I knew I had a rough day coming up today. When I got up, I found joe joe had died. I wasn't expecting that.

We had joe for about 2 years now. She got him as a baby quaker parrot, about 2 weeks old I believe. Birds bond strongly with one person, and she got him that early so she could hand-feed him his special goop and build that bond. They are supposed to live 25-30 years. He seemed healthy. He was eating his food and drinking water, so I have no idea what happened. Maybe he just missed her too.

I know I haven't been around here much. I've actually been pretty busy at http://www.FetLife.com.

I have to bury joe joe now.

My first entry...a reprise surprise

  • Aug. 16th, 2008 at 5:58 PM
Just for the fun of it, I took a look to see how long I've been blogging. My first post was Feb. 28, 2007. I read it and thought..gee...that's not too bad. So...since today's post was sort of lame...here is my first post/introduction.
**********************************

IN the beginning was the blog. I missed that beginning, so you'll have to settle for this one.

I am Mr. Upton Ogood. Feel free to address me as Mr. Upton Ogood.  Those close to me now, call me "Dad"...but they've known me for a very long time.  Perhaps if you get to know me for a very long time, you then can call me "Dad", but I suspect it won't work out like that. So, for the nonce (does anybody still have a nonce?) you may call me "Upton"....but only after a suitable period of familiarity.

Good...we've got that out of the way. So...as to the who I am thing....I'm just an old guy who thinks that he has something to say. I read lots of blogs...just about all of them are adult and almost all of them are about sex. Not  surprisingly, I like sex and I like adults and I heartily approve of sex between adults. I also approve of sex by adults when other adults aren't around....I sorta have to since they're going to do it anyway even without my approval so I sort of getting in front of that parade, if you know what I mean.  I happen to like doing bondage on people who like having that done to them. I like having them kick and scream while I'm doing it.  If you do bondage on people who don't want it done, you get the same reaction...which, for a dom/top, is the same thing.  So, except for the legal ramifications, bondage on all sorts of adults is very good. I'm  all for bondage without  getting arrested...so I tend to tie up people who want to get tied up. It really makes it easier. You avoid meeting police. Not that meeting police is a bad thing. I often like meeting people who have jobs that are different for ones that I have done. But, to be honest, meeting people while they perform their professional duties can be less than Ideal. So, in a nutshell, don't tie up police who don't want to get tied up. That is my final word on it. Take it to the bank.

Thus ends the first  in what  I hope will be an ongoing source of wisdom to one and all. Go in peace.

********************

I left in the misspellings for authenticity as well as because I'm too lazy.

JUst another day...

  • Aug. 16th, 2008 at 5:46 PM
...in paradise.

It's nearly 6pm and it's 77 outside. The wind is kicking up a bit, if 32mph is a bit. There are a couple of fires in the vacinity. I can tell from the haze and smell.

Had a long day yesterday, while I was AFK. It was 105F at my destination, which is, as everyone knows, the perfect temperature for old people to move furniture up to 2nd story appartments. Much fun was had by all.

Today, I have the house to myself again. Felashe is doing her annual "Relay for life" thing. She took the girls along.

Yesterday's drive....interesting...new hay is bailed and stacked in the fields...tomatoes are being harvested...lots of ag stuff going on up that way. It occured to me: Do you know why colleges and pot farms are found out in the rural areas? It cuts down on transport. I'm sure of it.

Fetlife is a real danger to me. I can lose hours just cruisin' around there. I try to limit myself to a peek now and again.  I also try not to 'friend' everyone I find interesting. It's an addiction.  I finally broke down and made a sort of introduction there today. I'm sure you find this fascinating. Sorry..I can be a bore sometimes.

Life is good. It's "Miller time" and I have a frozen pizza to harm. Keep me in mind.

.... AFK.

I'm on the road today being a service-submissive to Mordred. We, Felashe and I, are taking the young man and all his stuff (generic college gentleman's paraphernalia) to his new adobe abode (sorry...it's too cute to give up).

I shall be thinking of doing anything else but that..like doing Felashe or writing to y'all. But a man's got to do what a man's got to do...and moving another kid out seems like the right thing to do, don't you?

Basic Accounts, India, and LiveJournal Inc.

Development Goals and Basic Accounts

Last week we updated our development goals for 2008. Generally we noted a number of cool enhancements and investments to LiveJournal that we are working on, including improved search, usability, and site development.

We also wanted to let you know how we hope to accomplish all these things, and how we plan on paying for them. In order to accomplish our stated goals for this year and beyond, we need to increase the revenue gained from both groups of LiveJournal accounts: paid subscription accounts and ad-supported accounts.

As of August 28th, all users will be able to choose to downgrade their account to Basic through their Manage Account page. Additionally, we will start showing advertising to visitors who are not logged in to LiveJournal when they are looking at Basic Account journals and communities.

Basic Account users themselves will not see ads on any Basic journal or community while they are logged in to their account. If you want more information about this, take a look at our new post on [info]lj_2008 where we outline our reasoning.

Indian Flash Fiction Contest

In other news, we are excited to tell you we've launched "Quick Tales" LiveJournal's first initiative for users in India, in celebration of India Independence day, August 15th. "Quick Tales" is a flash fiction writing contest in which we're partnering with Caferati.com, one of India's largest online literary communites. The contest's winners will receive some great prizes and it is open to anyone with a mailing address in India. We hope that users with an interest in Indian writing or just India will watch LiveJournal's [info]india_writing community. That's where the finalists and winners will be announced, so keep an eye on it towards the end of September! If you're in India then enter the contest - if your story is slick and quick (under 500 words) then you could be the lucky winner!

Meanwhile, back at LiveJournal Inc.

We have updated and redesigned our corporate site. The goal of the redesign was twofold: first, to update the look and feel (Dystopia users will appreciate it!); second, we want to provide a destination for prospective employees, partners, and members of the press where they can access important information about the company. Kudos to our design team.

And still more shiney stuff

  • Aug. 13th, 2008 at 5:17 PM

You Are Bubble Tea

You are playful, sweet, and light hearted. You almost always have a smile on your face.

You don't take life all that seriously, and you're always up for some laughs.

You are very modern. You are up on the latest food, fashion, and entertainment trends.

You are open minded and open to new experiences. Finding new things to love is a minor obsession of yours.

sharing a laugh

  • Aug. 13th, 2008 at 10:49 AM
A man was seen fleeing down the hall of the hospital just before his operation.

"What's the matter?" he was asked.

He said, "I heard the nurse say, 'It's a very simple operation, don't worry, I'm sure it will be all right."

"She was just trying to comfort you, what's so frightening about that?"

"She was talking to the doctor."

Creative Folks

  • Aug. 13th, 2008 at 9:47 AM
An LJ friend (I won't mention who since she did it in a locked post) mentioned David Tennant as Dr. Who today and that along with something I was writing about in an email to A this morning (and was thus freshly on my mind) brought up today's post for what is making me happy today - creative folks.

I am not artistic but I love that there are so many talented folks in this world who make their creativity available for others to enjoy. Whether they do it professionally (as David Tennant does) or just simply as a means of sharing themselves with others (as the many talented artists out on http://www.furaffinity.net/ do), they remind us each day that while it may take only the bare minimum of food, water and sleep to keep us alive, it takes the imagination to see all the possibilities in the world around us for us to thrive.

As anyone still reading my journal must have realized by now, one of the changes I have made since returning to A is going fully furry on Second Life (probably more on that in another post as it is definitely one of the things making me very happy). I am mentioning it in here though because one of the reasons that being furry is making me so happy is that it has brought an amazing group into my life who are very open and very creative, who have a love of life in all of its permutations that is contagious and is bringing out many good things in my life.

Making love

  • Aug. 12th, 2008 at 10:05 PM
Right now, at this moment, i want to make love to my Master, John.

i know in this world of spankings and floggings, tears and marks, that that may sound strange............
But that is what i want.

i want to be able to touch Him, kiss Him, feel His sweat drip on me.
i want to feel that rush i get when He first enters me.
i want to grab His arms as i cum around Him and look into His eyes as He cums in me.

With all the "kinky" things i love, i love John the most.

More bright, shiney crap...

  • Aug. 12th, 2008 at 4:32 PM
....as found at Ladynanook's page.

The Part of You That No One Sees

You are innocent, sweet, and young at heart.

You present a purity that many people find appealing.

However, you are often tired of people treating you like a child.

Underneath it all, you enjoy being babied and pampered.

You have been known to feign inexperience to get out of sticky situations.

You fear getting old and losing your childlike charms.

I accept, with an overly large salinity, the above.

You should too.
